1) Leave the initial bandage on for a minimum of 3 hours ( no longer than 8 hours)
NEVER RE-BANDAGE YOUR TATTOO!

2) WASH YOUR HANDS! Immediately upon removing the bandages, wash the tattoo using a
mild antibacterial soap (fragrance free). Using warm water and your fingertips (no
washcloth or sponges), wash the tattoo 3 to 5 times a day to remove any ointment and
plasma. The tattoo will feel slimy at first. Do this for the first 4 days then switch to 1-2 times
a day.

3) Pat your tattoo dry using a clean dry soft towel or good quality paper towel.

4) Always allow your tattoo to air dry for 10-15 additional minutes before applying any
ointment.

ATTENTION!!! *The wound (TATTOO) will open every time it is soaked with water. if you
smear the ointment on the the tattoo while it is still wet or moist and not fully dried, The
TATTOO will take longer to close again which will most certainly cause the wound to push
out plasma that turns into scabs later on (which you don't want!). With a scab on the tattoo it
will take longer to heal, and you might loose some color on those spots...which scab up as a
result of this! So BE CAREFUL AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS and take care of your art!!

5) Using your fingertips, apply a super (thin) film of ointment (A+D or our preferred shop
ointment). Do not use what your friends tell you to use, or take healing advise from your
friends. We are experienced in our profession, with that in mind please use what WE
recommend.  It also guarantees your tattoo. Keep the tattoo moist, not greasy or goopy, If
your tattoo is shiny you have too much ointment on and you need to pat it off with a clean dry
towel! (do not let your tattoo completely dry out).

6) You might experience a little bit of oozing for the first couple of days. The oozing is plasma
which is your bodies natural healing mechanism for clotting and building a (scab), which you
don't want. When this occurs pat it off with a clean soft white paper towel. You will notice
your design on the towel, this is totally normal (DON'T PANIC). Washing and patting keeps
this plasma off so you get little to no scab.

7) Everyone's body heals at different rates, on the average your tattoo will start to peel and
flake in about 4 days. Don't pick or scratch at it, let the thin scab flake or peel naturally.

8) Your tattoo on average should be finished flaking and peeling around 7 to 10 days. When
your tattoo is done peeling quit using the ointment and switch to lotion (Non-Scented) that
We recommend, for an additional 1 to 2 weeks (It does not hurt to keep using the lotion on
your tattoo after its healed).

9) DONT'S FOR 2 WEEKS!
**NO** Swimming, Saunas, Hot tubs, Shaving over your tattoo.  Avoid direct sun light on your
fresh tattoo, this includes tanning booths. If at all possible, keep clothing off your tattoo. If
not possible, wear loose soft material, stay away from jeans (denim) and like materials.

10) After at least 4 weeks of healing, if your going to be in direct sunlight or tan we highly
recommend using SPF 45+ sun block on your tattoo to keep it bright and looking healthy.
